Just out of interest, does anybody know how much work would be involved in fitting Fort Victoria with the vertical launched Sea Wolf she was supposed to have when built?
The Silo/launcher can be seen in this picture, so would it be a case of just plugging a few bits in and loading her up (slightly over simplifying things I know), or would be a more complicated job?
Regards

FVIC was very advanced with the VLSW fit when the decision was made to remove the outfit. The 911 trackers had been fitted but not the 996 radar. I recall that the trackers were removed and fitted to IRON DUKE. Much of the internal fit (cabinets/cable runs etc) was still there when I was her XO in 1998 but should think that much has now gone especially as she is now fitted with CIWS.
