Well done Stephen, as usual. Another painting illustrating this event is to be found on the cover of the paperback version of 'The Serpent's Coil', its a painting by Chris Mayger, designed as a cover for the book.

Stephen, beautifull the diep blue (pruisisch blue I think) and the composition of the three ships,
thanks for sharing,

Rather a nice one Stephen, like the wee character leaning back from the rail, certainly doesn't feel calm.

That is a beauty! You've caught the tug's lines excellently and the whole scene speaks.

Great painting ! Infomation on the Foundation Lillian is she was built in the USA in1944, 561 grt, 21 nt. It is thought she had been named Roy H. Peters but very soon became the U.S Army tug L.T.533. Later renamed the Foundation Lillian (Canadian) then in 1853 renamed Escort (Lib). By 1955 she was the N.R. Lang (Canadian) before renamed Haida Chieftain, c. 1966 she was listed under the ownership of Kingcome Navigation Co. Ltd of Vancouver.

Robin.
