Built in 1882 by Harland et Wolff for Ismay, Imrie et Co, of the White Star Line. At the date of her launch she was the largest full-rigger in the world, being 2,347 ton gross. She was abandoned on fire in 1895 on a voyage Liverpool - Valparaiso with coal. Here portrayed in a nocturne by Jack Spurling.
