Hi Granty,
I thought it was strange her sailing empty from Goole but sometimes Everards went to Keadby and loaded there. Unless she had just come out of dry dock and making her way to Blyth. Didn't she do a few runs with coal from Blyth to Aalborg? (I missed the Google reference.)
I doubt if she would have gone to Keadby, I think that she would have been too large for the jetty, a number of Everard vessels did regularly load at Keadby but they were mostly beyween 400 and 800 dwt, one on the berth and the others lying alongside, first bottom second bottom etc. awaiting their turn to load. I think, as Granty mentioned, she may have had work carried out by the Goole Shipbuilding co., where she was built.
I used to go to Keadby with Everards. The Trent bore could be exciting but not much fun having to turn to in the middle of the night to keep an eye on the moorings.
Hi
It just seemed strange she Sailing Light Ship or was she a bit to big for Goole,I remember the SEGB Flaties Loading there 68.69 when I went there but cant place any Ship Longer them them in Goole
Granty
Goole locks are 100 M, 330ft so should be large enough for the Yellow Perils, been there on the Irish Willow (270ft, 2000TDW) back from the St.Lawrence trade when that froze. Goole to Poole with coal.
All though Georgina V Everard and the Frederick T Everard were built at goole they regular came for dry docking and repairs,
but they never loaded at Goole.
