Court Line had negotiated a fifteen year charter package, commencing Spring 1971, with Newfoundland Oil, an independent oil group at the time building North America’s first terminal for tankers over 200,000 tons at Come By Chance, Newfoundland. To complete the deal in time Court Line for around £7.5 million, purchased a 226,000 ton tanker already on order at Gotaverken’s Arendal yard in Sweden to be named HALCYON THE GREAT.

19.3.1971: Launched by Gotaverken Arendal AB, Gothenburg (Yard No. 849) for Court Line Ltd (Court Line (Ship Management) Ltd, managers). 5.1971: Completed for 18-year charter to Shell Petroleum, serving a Canadian refinery.
1974: Sold to Transocean Tankers Services Inc (Island Navigation Corp Ltd, Hong Kong, managers) and renamed ENERGY PROSPERITY under Liberia flag.
1978: Used as a storage facility at Teluk Semangka.
1983: Laid up at Busan.
12.8.1984: Arrived at Ulsan for demolition by Hyundai Precision & Industry Company Ltd.
