Is that in the foreground Harlepool Marina we are looking at?? a lot has been filled in I think since.

Hello MNEWBY - the current Marina occupies the central dock in view. The Museum of Hartlepool is the building directly beneath the large crane, with the berth where HMS Trincomalee is currently situated directly to the left of that. Pretty much everything else has been filled in so far as the near dock complex is concerned and is now retail, hotels, cinema, housing etc. The entry to the main dock area these days is in the distance by what is now called The Headland but at the time was Hartlepool with the town to the right side and foreground of the picture being West Hartlepool. In the late 1940's early 1950's these Dock's were the home of some of the R.N's Reserve Fleet.
