I remember seeing the HMS Forth when she was at anchor in the Clyde in the 40s. Would it be off Gourock, if I remember rightly?

Growing up in Malta during the 50s and 60s, my mother remembers a very high ship in Msida Creek which she called the Fort, I presume this and the Forth are one of the same, can anyone confirm this?

Yes Stevo. Forth was in Msida Creek until about 1961. See page 8 of my gallery.

When i was on a hunt destroyer in Malta in 45 we used to go out to sea for gunnery firing ,HMS FORTH was at anchor outside in the med & we used to go alongside & onboard to buy a few things ( tinned peaches being the favourite due to the heat )

quite interesting to see Forth as completed in comparison to Mr Copps image at the end of her days.
