Ships Nostalgia banner

Originally P-66 HMS Varne, built by Vickers Barrow in 1943, she was intended for a Dutch crew, but the ship that was to carry them to Britain was sunk, and a Norwegian crew was put onboard to replace them. She did sink some German shipping, and notably sunk a German U-boat. One may question whether a British built sub under British command can be called Norwegian, but as I understand it the Norwegians brought it back to Norway after the war, and therefore one must suppose they paid for it at one point.
