She and Hopper No 26 were the last of the steam powered hopper barges formerly of the Clyde Navigation Trust/ Clyde Port Authority. They were both built by Simons at Renfrew in 1954 and lasted until 1983/84 until they were towed to Manchester for scrap.
This was taken off Greenock in May 1975.
