A good ship. I did 6 months onboard as third mate in 1878 just before she was sold. I joined in Bangkok having transferred from the nearly new Nessbank, paid off in Durban. Master was James Cambpell, Mate Charlie Latchford, 2nd Mate John West. I think Roddy Mclean was 2/E.

16 months on this beauty. 16/02/67 to 26/06/68. Arguably the best time I ever had at sea. Len Thorne was the Old Man, Alan Smalldon C/O, Stu Horsburgh 2/O, Jimmy Halpin RO, Big Muk and John Leckie C/E's, Kevin Habben 2/E, Harry Whitby 3/E, Farquhar McKenzie Elect. Kevin Habben had been on board from the builders yard and up to when we paid off in Falmouth in 1968, she never once broke down at sea. Some record that, nearly four years without a breakdown.
