JAAP, THE VESSEL WAS WRECKED ON A REEF OFF FAKAOFO ATOLL, TOKELAU ISLANDS, DURING THE NIGHT OF 26/2/81. SHE WAS HOLED IN THE FUEL AND WATER BALLAST TANKS, CARGO HOLD WAS FLOODED AND SALVAGE ATTEMPTS WERE ABANDONED DUE TO THE LOW VALUE OF THE VESSEL AND DAMAGE TO HULL. CARGO WAS SUBSEQUENTLY PLUNDERED BY ISLANDERS.

Thanks Leslie, I have been trying to complete the history of this ship. The only thing I could find was the following site about a wreck called aisokula and that was very vague.

Pleasure Jaap - so many of the smaller ships seem to disappear without any record around the world; this one you can put to bed.

Thanks to the crew for your excellent efforts - the photo now has more meaning and is not just a pretty picture.

Just caught up with the comments. Certainly a ship with a story attached. Answered my original question and many more besides. An indication of what this SN is all about. Well done all.
