She was towed for around 600 feet by HMS Mariner before she was afloat on the 23 of May in 1955.
Arrived at Reykjavik on the 24 of May for some repairs in making ready for an oversea tow.
The tug Englishman arrived at Reykjavik on June 2 and a couple of days later she was towed to UK.

She gave some more years service before she was scrapped in 1961.

Skipper on her was 38 year old Sidney Philip Farmery who had his skipper certificate suspended for 18 months due to not using radar and echometer prior to the stranding but he could sail as mate after 6 months.
