In the boatyard in Holyhead lay the battered remains of an Arun lifeboat which had been slightly altered by this ship after a gale one night in Rosslare (I think) Big ship, little lifeboat, not much contest!

The ex RNLI Lifeboat you refer to is now named Irish Mist. There is a photograph of her in the Gallery.

Can somebody telle how come this vessel is listed at 31.000 GRT whilst 161 m. in length.
The old Statendam is listed as 24.000 GRT with a length of 191 m.
I cannot see this ferry has more decks, somehow these calculations don't make sense.
I realise she is 3 metre wider though.
