Looks like she had a quarrel with a dock! No idea. Perhaps someone else can enlighten us?

This happpend I understand in Hamburg at the end of 1975 or early 1976. Apparently the the 3/0 turned the battery operated engine telegrapghs off before ringing finished with engines. Once the power was off the pointers went to full ahead. The engine was then kicked ahead and the ship hit either the ship ahead or the quay.I joined the ship in Wallsend dry dock on 2nd Feb 1976 as apprentice, when she had a new bow!

Looks like the jaws of a shark. I bet that was costly to repair if it came out of 3/O pay.

I tell you, place a question here in SN and you'll get an answer! All the background stuff would be lost if it were not for this site!
