A pity the British has gone, the first NZ pub I ever set foot in!
Has the timeball been rebuilt as yet?

Not sure of the latest situation James. I know there was a plan to rebuilt the Timeball Tower as it was not totally destroyed in the first quake - but I think this was abandoned after the Tower totally collapsed in the aftershocks.

Have very fond memories of Lyttelton in the sixties when all the finger wharves were full of home boats loading lamb
