The 1943 Portland, Maine, EC2-S-C1 type "Liberty Ship" MARIKA is seen passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 24th March 1970.

Owned by G.D.Patrikios of Greece and commercially managed from London by Shipping & Produce Co., she was arriving to top off her cargo for Cuba with a parcel of milk powder.
