I saw a boat with Lerwick registration today on the news at teatime .... blue boat .... I am interested in this boat as it is called Mizpah .... this name has deep significance to me and I would seek to know more about the boat and its name and its history ... thank you so much in anticipation if you can help me in my search
The Mizpah name also means a lot to me as when I was doing my engineers ticket in Aberdeen I met a chap( we became good friends ) who was mate on the Mizpah out of Lossie or the Brough as I recollect . His father was the Captain and owner if my memory serves me well .
This Mizpah was built by Campbelltown Shipyard as Alison Kay LK 57 in 1988. She went ashore on Atla Holm just outside my home village of Hamnavoe Burra Isle Shetland, but was repaired, sold and then took the name Mizpah after owners commissioning a new stern trawler Alison Kay, built in Denmark at Skagen in 2001 which is now completing a lengthening and raising foredeck and wheelhouse in Denmark. .
