OFF BILBAO

Two days ago, I had the pleasure to meet with our colleague Stephen J. Card in Bilbao.

It was during cruise SAGA SAPPHIRE call in this port, following cruise schedule planned.

In a cool morning and enjoying a cup of tea, Stephen and me talks about paintings techniques, ships, and our personal experiences as seamens.

Here depicted OBO ship SEVONIA TEAM off Bilbao in ballast, April 1975. In scene, pilot leaving the ship. Stephen sailed as 2nd mate.

I thought it would be a good idea, give him this painting as memory of his first visit to Bilbao.

By the way, it is always a good experience and profitable, meet with colleagues from SN members.

Roberto: I agree with Jim. This is an outstanding painting and it has to have been wonderful to meet with someone like Stephen and talk about ships, the sea, and art.

Knock, Knock!

Hi Roberto, All is well and am back on 'de Rock' after a great Sapphire voyage. Yours SEVONIA TEAM is now proudly displayed on the shelf in my studio. Not hanging, it is on a special table easel. I am so proud to have the fine painting and of course, happy memories of the ST.

Meanwhile. Any thoughts? CRISTOBAL COLON? HABANA? GRADALOUPE? COVODONGA? Give me a hint.
