I was on the norse viking at the time and passed very close to the pacific glory she was exploding at the time the officer of the watch call the captain
and just said "poor Bastards" and we just sailed on we had to arrive at the great lakes on time or the cost would have doubled as it did any way.
I have kept this to my self for the last forty years.
That we left men to die in the cold water and we could have helped.
