Good post! Aye, Rob - you sure have our Scottish gift of the understatement. What would we (as 'canny Scots') say if we saw a 'cracker' by Charles Dixon or Kenneth Shoesmith? 'Not bad; the boy may do good yet!'??? Lovely painting. Wonderful depiction of a shipyard and ship being fitted out. Donald.

Great job ! I would think it had some special difficulties using different tones of the same colour. That could be a U-Boat's bow in the foreground.

I think this would certainly have been more difficult to paint the way it has been done, as opposed to using "normal" colours. Real and true talent I would say.
