The POSEIDON, on passage from Demerara to New York, departed on 26th May 1942 from Trinidad, and is missing since then. Most probably destroyed by a submarine attack on 2nd or 5th June 1942 in position about 36º N and 71º W, notably by the German U 502. Crew of 32 were killed.
