Yes I saw her then at that time . In a sorry state but apparently still salveable . It was sad to watch her decline over the following years. The last time was to see her funnel topple . Thanks for listing.
Years before I used to go on a sunday lunchtime to listen to the jazz and enjoy a pre-roast pint. There was also a disco held there at the weekends . I wonder when she was renamed " The Ryde Queen" ?

This image was taken just after the PSPS had done some work on board which if anything escalated the decline.
Scorcher, the Ryde was renamed Ryde Queen as Sealink wanted the name Ryde kept free for any future ferry so it was written into the sale of the ship. The Ryde was not officially renamed Ryde Queen until she went into the millpond at Binfield in 1971. The new owners did not know what to call her until the Ryde's former Captain Eric Yealland visited the boat and his wife, Pat suggested she be called the Ryde Queen.

Stevo, what did PSPS do that escalated her Decline? I only asking as I didn't read much or see her after she left Portsmouth. I didn't see 'Ryde' again till I moved to the Island.

As sad as it is to say, I think PS Ryde is very unlikely to sail again. The years since 1993 when that photo have not been kind to her, have a look at this photo from 2011 http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/275160/title/ps-ryde/cat/502 and things can only hove got worse since.
Then how do you 'save her'? is there enough left for the MCA to give you granddad's rights for passenger sailing after restoration or do you mount her on a pontoon like Robin?
