No to pass ship ,look at my gallery and you will see her photo. I'm sure it wasn't his cabin but I can see where you are coming from. Like houses , ships aren't built to the same size nowadays.

Hey, don't knock Redifon too much, they were my first employer and I got lots of very good training courses on their equipment. The pay was rubbish but they looked after us okay though I was rich when Shell direct employed me Yes thats an R408 Rx, a real problem was if the tuning film parts company with the mechanism ;-)
Problem was, Mike, as Marconi sparkies we never got any training on the competitor's gear.
Come to think of it we never got any training on Marconi gear.
I tell a lie, I had a two day course on the Crusader Tx in Glasgow. Spent the night hiding in my hotel room 'cos Celtic and Rangers were having a local derby.
If you look at my current profile picture you can just see the left hand handle of an R408 at the right. I look as if I'm staring at it in disgust. It must be broken.
Kris
I did a run from Cardiff to Glasgow on Hazelmoor - can't remember a thing about the radio room but I had a nice time in drydock, hiding out from Marconi.
