Walking down the pier in one of the Caribbean ports I was surprised to be able to see one of her twin screws so clearly. Combination of super clear water and the right sun angle, never seen this again since.

Have you been out to Queen Mary in Long Beach? The remaining propeller is a tank... attached outside the hull. You could walk through to see the prop... full of water and great floodlights!

One of the few places where the sea is clear enough it as the berth in Cozumel. Sandy bottom so the light reflects so well.

Yes, we stayed a night on QM four years ago and did the engine room tour, fascinating to see the shaft alley and the prop itself.
Will post some photos in near future of the visit.

I first went on board in 1977. Great Sir Winston's Restaurant and the Lookout Bar was a blast. There is a real soul in that ship. Long may she reign!
