Enticing scene, wish I could have been been there. Stylish ships with hard to pronounce names. (Wonder if the Blue Flue fans here are fluent in old Greek?). Regards, Stein.

Hi Tassie, Two great photos, thankyou. I was on the 'Rhexenor' when these pictures were taken, I sailed on her from August 1954 to June 1956, we were homeward bound at the time, arriving back in Liverpool on the 14th. July 1955. I remember the IXL Jam factory well. Cheers Bruce.

Rick

Hi Tassie, I think that you have got your ships wrong. The ship on the right looks like one of the "H" boats to me, I am going by the windows on the forepart. I joined the "Neleus" on 26th. April 1955 in Liverpool a month before your picture was taken and don't remember going to Hobart.

All the best.....Alec.

Hi Alec, my humble appologies, you are correct. It is the Helenus and not the Neleus. The details have now been corrected. I do have (somewhere) a slide of the Neleus in Hobart which I will scan and post sometime in the near future.
Thanks once again for your info.....Kind Regards.....Bill (Tassie)
