The portuguese 4 masts grand banker auxiliary steel schooner SANTA MARIA MANUELA, 62.83m/666gt, built 1937 by CUF shipyard, Lisbon. After several vicissitudes, on the last March, fortunatelly, was decided to recuperate that splendid schooner to the original project of 1937, for which Messrs. Pascoal & Filhos, Aveiro, an owner and fishing products transformation factory, bought the hull from Santa Maria Manuela Foundation, and they will have the cooperation of Ilhavo City Hall, University and Aveiro port Authority. I ignore if the vessel remains moored in the port like a museum or go to the sea. The photo shows her at Leixões port arriving from Grand Banks on the 1951. The Aveiro schooners D.DENIZ and ADELIA MARIA are just visible on the background.

What a brilliant image
I'm working in St Johns the week after next and will do my best to spend some time digging around records of the White Fleet

Beautiful photo of one of CREOULA's sisters and wonderful news. In my opinion, they should do the same that was done to ARGUS and make her a cruise ship and keep her in Portuguese hands. ;)
