I received this picture in an email from a friend so i apologise in advance to the owner(unknown to me).
But i was impressed by it nonetheless.

That photograph is NOT touched up as it was taken by a friend of mine, George Ianiev
He was second mate at the time (Now DOT in Ottawa Head examiner).
Ship was on route from Tampa Florida to Ghent in March 1987.
Surprisingly there was not a great deal of damage except for the port side companionway.

After sailing on one of those sea going pencils, I figured it wasn't altered.

I didn't say that one was - but there are plentry of fakes around! The one depicting a Maersk AHT rising to a sea was drastically altered.

Thats what I meant also, just going off the bow out by around 15 degrees makes it look like its been altered. But as you say its come from a genuine source. Apologies if offence was caused. None was intentional
