Looks like the old Viscount Ridley dredger and also Wear Hopper 36 (above Souters funnel) which was converted to a bouy maintainance barge, behind 36 is where the main slipway of JL's was to be situated.

the old souter when we lived in monkwearmouth this tug was my faverite i never dreamed when i was a kidd that one day i would take to the tyne for scrap but i did take her lifeboat light and after allmost 50 years of sailing 3 marigages and 14 homes i still have the light above my fireplace and they say crime never pays [shhh]
