SS ALCOA PURITAN was a typical C1-B constructed war-time vessel delivered in March 1943 by the Consolidated Steel Corporation Ltd., Wilmington, California.
She was built and named to replace a previous Alcoa Puritan which had been torpedoed and sunk by U507 off the mouth of the Mississippi River while on voyage from Port of Spain to Mobile.
Alcoa Puritan II was broken up at Mobile during February 1965.
