I was Mate on the "Strathmay" when she was the "Manora" from 9 5 73 to 19 10 73, and she rolled like a pig then. Before leaving port, standard procedure was to take everything that could move off the desk and all other horizontal surfaces, and put all items on the floor. Far too stiff for a cargo vessel - I was used to ships with a GM of around 6" (or less!) and the GM of about 20" on the "Manora" was too much for me!
Query - did the ship's side doors still leak? And were all cranes, derricks, masts painted grey - the photo makes it look rather like that.
