She struck an unlit oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico in the late 1970's.
All survived the blaze, and the stern was welded to a new bow I believe
Note the melted life boat and the slice in the stem.

They sold a plastic model toy of this ship in the 1960s, I still see them for sale on Ebay. I suppose someone could "update" their model to look like this.

Yeh, I suppose a propane torch and a few minutes time and there ya go...burnt boat.

Rumour has it that the OOW at the time was sighted in Beaumont as a Marine Super. '99-00. at the Exxon Mobile terminal!
