The Leasowe Castle, Wallasey, close to Seacombe Ferry and Alfred Locks in Birkenhead.
This pub was the headquarters of the 'Gulls', the men who attended to dockings and undockings of foreign ships visiting the port.
The last time I was in this pub in 1990, the landlord was Mike Elliott who had been an AB in Blue Funnel, and was a schoolmate of mine. I did get a free pint.
