Must have been doing something to the harbour Wull there all tied up on the east side, and where\\\'s the rope from the Pavonia and the others going.a real mystery here Wull

No no Bill,I'm afraid you will have to have another look at the photo,they are at the broken quay and are on the bottom,the brickworks does look close right enough,will post another photo so you will see.

Would that be the same "hopeful" later owned by Johno Davidson fae Shapinsay before he had the "Argonaut" & "Flourish"?

Yes wmac thats the same boat,the chap that had the Hopeful got a new boat built in Fraserburgh,named her Maureen WK 270

Not thinking that Im too far of though Great what you can do with adobe picture viewer
The other picture you put in of Thurso harbour has the Amber Queen and the Crest but what is the one nearest the quay??

Sorry Wullie It was the Loch Fyne in the picture It was one you put in the ports and harbours section of Thurso 1950
The Hopeful was built in Forbes Sandhaven in 1934 Keel 47.5ft LOA 52ft Beam 15.3 ft and draft 6.3 ft 22.56 Tonns Gross and Nett She was previously INS 69 when Wullie Simpson bought her 21/1/1953 and she was sold to John Davidson of Shapinsay 21/10/1962
