"Tielbank"
One of the few occasions that Bank Line got into alliteration regarding the naming of sisterships! This ship was the second one of six steamships built by Readhead's of South Shields, the others being: "Tynebank" (Class leader) "Tielbank", "Testbank", "Teviotbank", Thornliebank" and "Thursobank" between 1934 and 1940.
Fairly "standard" British pre-war split accommodation trampship type but with a raised forecastle. Crew ammenity houses finally migrated to the aft end of the ship abaft No.5 Hatch.
