The German WWII U boat, U 534, is now on display at Woodside Ferry terminal in Birkenhead.
The submarine was cut into 5 sections and given a smart paint job, and is a popular attraction in Birkenhead

should never have been cut up, but typical of uk, NMM cut up a paddle tug, must be contagious in UK.

I think she was a far more impressive exhibit in her original state.

Oooh I don't know ....the photos that I have seen of her cut up expose a lot more to view than was and is available of any other U-boat or submarine .... we all like to see cross sections and if she is attracting a lot of attention then thats all to the good .... would love to see her myself but thats not going to be possible ....must see if there are any pics of her now she is on display.

But thanks for the heads up Pat ....very interesting post

I have seen her, my cousin took me, very interesting you can see inside her very well. Better than looking at just her outsides which means nothing.
