VATERLAND 1958

VATERLAND 1958

Ahoy,
Got today a nice bunch of piccies from German coasters[KUMO's called]most of them are fron the 50-60 some earlier, some later dated, and like to share these with you, if wanted a HR ia available, as most of these little coasters were visitors on the UK coasts, but these shots are mainly taken in the Elbe & Kiel canal area.
I will start with a very fine shot of the VATERLAND 1958,which in my opinion was the best shot, but there are lots more very "cracking" shots, so you can decide for your own.
As most of those vessels, changed their name quit a few times it's hard to find to present data of the posted piccies, so any help, will be most welcome & appreciated,I only know their date of launching.

This was definitely taken when we had her because the masts were always buff coloured before we bought her and the old man made us paint the cables white and the buckles black

I thought something looked wrong ...
The Vaterland Hein von Bargen owned was a quarter decker, but I do not
know where she was built, I thought he bought her used.
It was either the 1st Vaterland or Kehrwieder that was a new building and sank near the island of Oesel?
Time I ordered the book LOL

Cheers Ruud she was built for Dutch owners some of the history is missing because I know she was owned by the Luhrs of Wischafen prior to us owning her and then by somebody else we purchased the vessel after she was arrested in Casablanca in 1980. I am still looking for a photo of her in the Caribbean on the Miami river preferably to bring things full circle I have a picture of her launch as BOSCO somewhere.

Good update on the history ruud It was sad to learn of her fire I truly believe she would have done 50 years easy because she was so well looked after. Incidentally it was not the first time she went on fire above deck on one side all the cabins had modern interiors and on the other they were old wooden interiors because of a previous blaze.
