The 1943 Wm.Doxford, Sunderland, built VICKY is seen passing Hoek van Holland outbound from on 8th July 1970 following discharge of a cargo loaded at Melilla in Spanish North Africa.

VICKY's beneficial owner was Soc. Armamento Marittimo in Nome Collettivo ("SOARMA") of Genoa, a company formed in 1950 which had operated a number of ships of historic interest which were always well maintained. Others in the fleet had included NELLA (ex TEVIOTBANK), JOLANDA (ex RIBERA) and MARIPINDO (ex WAVERLEY PARK).
