All Leisure Holidays'' cruise ship Voyager was arrested in Singapore late last Friday, following action taken over unpaid bunker bills.Bunker supplier Gulf Petrochem Group (Gulf Petrochem) is understood to have been the first to take action against ALG, and has filed a $162,800 claim against the ship.Shipoil Ltd (Shipoil), another bunker supplier, has also filed a caveat against the ship, while Sembcorp Marine Ltd (Sembcorp Marine), the yard at which the vessel has been receiving repairs, has also filed a claim.
March 22 - 2017 VOYAGER, which has been laid up in Singapore following the bankruptcy of the All-Leisure Group, has been sold to unspecified Mexican interests. New Registered owner; HOTELES DINAMICOS SA DE CV new name: Vidanta Elegant
July 2018 News provided by important contributor of this site Alan Dumelow.
The m/s Vidanta Elegant sits out of service undergoing a major refurbishment in Naples as Grupo Vidanta continues to move forward in entering the cruise business. The Mexico-based hotel operator acquired the 1990-built ship in 2017 following the demise of All Leisure Group, where the vessel sailed as the m/s Voyager. The ship was then moved to a shipyard in Spain, and has since been relocated again, this time to a yard in Naples. The vessel was set to be renamed Vidanta Alegría and enter service as soon as the 2018-2019 Mexican Riviera season, but plans appear to have changed. Recent photos show a new name, (m/s Vidanta Elegant) and a ship that is in the middle of a large-scale refurbishment and may not be entering service until 2019 at the earliest. Grupo Vidanta was said to have further ambitions to acquire ships, and has made a number of cruise line recruitments, both for its site team in Europe and for its shoreside office in Mexico. The company is involved in hotel and resort development, and even has its own private international airport within a resort property in Mexico near Puerto Penasco, where a massive new cruise port is under development.
Jan15-2019 Ship left yard after an extensive refurbishment. The ship now features a new aft structure and all new interior spaces. Following its refurbishment, it is expected to carry around 300 guests. The ship is said to be heading across the Atlantic and then through the Panama Canal on her way to the Mexican Riviera, where the company has port calls booked up and down the coast for the winter 2019-2020 cruise season.
