Bouvard,

I am right in thinking that the under 10 fathom rig, is used at the start of the season catching mainly the "whites" and the rope length steadily increases as the crays head to deeper water.

Jim,

Most of the season (7.5 months) fished with this standard rig, apart from 2-3 weeks following the "whites" (newly moulted spiny lobster) into "deep" (60-80fath.) water. Maybe... 100-120fath. rope, 5 or 6 or more, 8inch floats in 80fath.
