Cox’s “The Sailing Trawlers and Liners of Grimsby” has GY 903 William Clowes (not Cloves) built 1883 by J. & C. Hoad Rye.
I have no idea who is correct maybe both of you.
Either way I am sure it is the same vessel
09/1883 owners W.Empson & H. Chapman with one of the skippers my great uncle.
05/1884 owners H. Chapman & T. Gillett.
04/1888 owner E. Butler.
Sold as he calls Danes 11/1894
