When I was a little kid, I thought I saw an ad in a yachting magazine for her, I think they were trying to pitch her as a potential yacht conversion. Does anybody else remember that? Sad it didn't work out, she was 1/2 like a yacht to begin with.
Certainly a speedy and elegant vessel. I have a tape of her proceeding to the stricken Norwegian tanker Sitakund in 1968. The Master says he is proceeding at 20 knots and then gives an ETA that would have required 30+!
Alas I don't have the tape of my late father (in his capacity as salvage master) threatening to turn the fire hoses on her if she didn't stop hindering the ongoing salvage operations run from the Meeching. Zwarte Zee soon withdrew. (Couldn't get that nice shiny paintwork wet, LOL!)
