Yes, it was outward bound.
We were bound for Shanghai. Quite an experience in those days.

It looks like she was working cargo from Nos 4 and 5 over the stbd side. Notice the cluster boom on the mainmast is rigged, indicating they will be working cargo overnight. No sleep in the sailor's alleyway then, all four winches on top of the sailor's house would be going like the clappers of hell all night long.
