This picture was taken in Portsmouth dockyard (as can be noted by the two well known landmarks in the background) from the deck of H.M.S.Hermes in 1960.The ships are I believe H.M.S.Hardy F54 Blackwood Class,H.M.S.Dundas F48 Blackwood Class and H.M.S.Teazer F23 Tourbridge Class which was broken up in 1965.Don't know what happened to the other two.Perhaps there are some senior citizens out there that can enlighten us.

If that were a pic from today, that's 1/3 of our frigate force!

Hardy (F54)was used for harbour duties until sunk as a target in 1983

Dundas (F48) was scrapped in 1983

I think Teazer was a Tenacious class indeed scrapped in 1965

Cheers for that Steve.Iv'e just had a browse on the net and found H.M.S.Teaser on the following web site www.maritimequest.com and its under warships and sub heading "destroyers" they say she was a "T" class so that doesn't help very much.Launched January 1943,Commissioned September 1943,paid off July 1961 and scrapped in 1965 at Dalmuir Scotland.

Hi Jim
What a sad state our Navy is in.I remember the Fleet review in the 50's didn't only use the Solent for parking up they used the whole of the Spithead area and stretched for miles.I use to view the ships from Haylands on the Isle of Wight,as a nipper, like us Isle of Wighters would say.
