ATLAS

ATLAS

The Atlas was a Bremer freighter, owned by Atlas-Levante Line, which was heavily damaged on 2nd October 1958 in Hamburg Kaiser Wilhelm harbor by two explosive charges and partially sank. The criminal investigations were inconclusive. Only on 27 November 1959 it was announced that the attack had been carried out in the context of the Algerian war by the Red Hand, of which only since the 1990s it is known that this was a false flag operating camouflage organization of the French Service Action.
