Nice Image! Does anyone know of any programme to update the armament on the Type 45's? I am aware of the fitting of Phalanx on the Daring but are there other modernisations planned?

Agreed! its a great picture. There has been mention of being able to use the US Mk 41 vertical launch system which would in turn allow Tomahawk missiles to be carried, thats 'on the cards' or 'pie in the sky' depending on where you read it. Also the 4.5inch gun 'should' be replaced with 155mm gun sometime in the next decade. All down to cost I guess, the space is there and the ships are crying out for more systems to be added. If everything that could be added, was added, thats a pretty impressive ship.
Harpoon could also be fitted in no time at all if need be. Having said that there seems to be a growing opinion that anti-ship missiles are becoming a luxury, great if you have them, but are they necessary? after all....how many have ever been fired against ships vs how many ships have been destroyed by other means....its a pretty one sided statistic!
