originally a 46' 9" Watson Cabin lifeboat based at Teesmouth.

Can't say i'm over impressed by the "modifications"

Why can't these people who buy old classic lifeboats leave them alone.......if they want a fishing boat with a kortz type manouverability, buy a fishing boat in the first place.

that is just barbaric........

I quite agree. I hate to see lifeboats cut about and changed to something else. They should be left as they were built with only slight modification to the interior if necessary if its going to be used as a live on.

I totally agree with the comments on this modification. It is barbaric, by all means change the interior to suit your needs without affecting stabality and boat handeling etc. Bur for Gods sake let the exterior alone, the R.N.L.I. put a lot of effort into the design.

to be fair i've seen this boat a few times,

The RNLI put a lot of effort into the design of a lifeboat, with a sheltered rear cabin for survivors.

they did not put a lot of effort into the design of a charter fishing vessel, the rear cabin has been removed to leave an open well for using for fishing or use as a workboat on the wind turbines off of great yarmouth.

I'm sorry that these things happen to ex lifeboats i.e 44-002 the first british built waveney which has had similar treatment...

But sometimes a conversion needs to be done for a job, It is restorable still with some effort, at least it hasn't been broken up!
