David,
I saw this one after my posting on Laertes! Thus ditto! Poor old Alfred was probably turning in his grave with these two!

I served aboard this ship as part of Naval Party 1900. She was a STUFT (ship taken up from trade) ammuniton carrier in the Falklands.
First experience of serving with seamen from the Merchant Navy. Great crew aboard.

Thanks Hugh.
A mate of mine was an engineer on her in the Falklands. He had the "enviable task" of setting off the "missile catcher" fitted on the stern! (Or maybe I'm getting my ships mixed up!). Its a strange thing memory, I certainly remember someone telling me she was an ammunition carrier!

Hello Dave,
I dont remember the "missile catcher" fitted on the stern when I was aboard. If it was there it would have probalby been removed by then.
