Together with sister Britannic, these were the last traditional refrig. ships built for Shaw Savill before containers where introduced to the NZ service.
A surprisingly long life for what soon became a redundant design.

I was only thinking the same, a surprisingly long life taking everything into account especially as many of her contemporaries had long gone to the scrappers by 1995.

The Britannic and Majestic were very attractive looking reefers. There's something about reefer ships that make them more attractive than the more conventional freighter.

So many shipping companies had attractive looking Reefers including the likes of Blue Star Line, Geest Line, Safmarine, Salen, Shaw Savill, etc.
