Mariners Club, Hong Kong August 1968

I thought this was a great place in Hong Kong and went there regularly despite all the other attractions. It was located in a side street at the bottom of Nathan Road in Kowloon, very close to what was then the very popular Ambassador Hotel. It had quite good air conditioned accommodation and it was a godsend when a weekend away from a non air conditioned ship was possible. Another major attraction was that at that time Qantas crews were allowed to use the facilities because their hotel did not have a pool. Had some great times there because of that.

I recently made my first (of hopefully many) visit to HK as a cadet and hung out at the Mariner's Club, especially the bar above the bowling alley :) Hell of a city, that's for sure!
