Hi Waiwera You werent the poor cadet that was sent down to the ER for a bucket of steam that trip or the one who rang full astern at Lyttelton while we still were at 80rpm ahead with 1 hour to standby.

Not guilty on either count that trip .

But certainly fell for some of the "old ones" on my first trip a few years previous.

Including "Clearing out the Fog Locker" - thing was on the Waiwera in the lower poop store space there was a locker marked "Fog Gear" where the old DMS equipment and the "Fog Buoy" used in convoys from the war was stowed. Needless to say 4 cadets went "missing" for four hours during busy cargo work in Liverpool cleaning a space that was never used! The Mate was not a happy bunny!
